is Now Available!
Public Comment Period Runs to April 4th
The Draft Prairie View Metra Station Area Plan is now in the Public Comment Period, which runs to April 4, 2019. Within this period there are several opportunities to view and provide feedback on the Plan:
Presentation to the Village Board and Feedback. The presentation of the Draft Plan and Video was presented to the Village Board on March 4th to help kick off the public comment period and collect feedback.
Online Viewing and Feedback. During the public comment period, the public is invited to view the draft plan and video as well as provide comments online.
Draft Plan Open House Sessions. The public is also invited to view the plan, ask questions, and provide any feedback in-person with Village staff during scheduled Open House Sessions as well as by appointment. Visual aids as well as copies of the draft Plan will be available during these sessions.

Public Hearing. A public hearing will be held by the Planning & Zoning Commission to consider adopting the Prairie View Metra Station Area Plan as a component and update to the Village’s 2009 Comprehensive Plan. The public will be invited to provide comments on the plan during this forum.

The Village of Buffalo Grove is developing a community-driven vision and plan for the Prairie View Station Area.
This Prairie View Station Area Plan will serve as a framework and guide for the future of the Station Area. It will be a developed through community input as well as analyses of planning, transportation, and market data and information.The project will take into consideration the opportunities and challenges of the unincorporated areas as well as the Metra’s North Central Service, which provides service to the Prairie Grove Metra Station. Moreover, it will explore synergies in the Station Area and create recommendations to achieve the community’s vision for the area. The Plan is anticipated to be completed by late 2018.
Community outreach is a key part of the project. The public will be encouraged to attend and participate in community outreach events and activities that will occur throughout the course of the project.
